Rantaholics

Today at work we had an unannounced visit from our district's Vice President. I hate it when we have a vist from anyone remotely important. Everyone gets their underwear all in a bunch and it's annoying. For example, before I went to lunch today, I left a cart in my department of things I was working on...I come back 45min. later and my cart is gone. So, after hunting the freaking store for my crap, I run into one of the managers and ask about my stuff...they gave it to another team lead because they were "trying to clean up the store and get rid of stray carts." First of all, it wasn't a stray cart..it was my work and second of all, any other day of the week no one would have said or done a freaking thing. It's an unannounced visit so the the important people can see how we run on a day to day basis w/o knowing someone is coming. Why be fake? Why pretend our store is something it's not? And what's really annoying is they want us team leads to go up, introduce ourselves and "hob-knob" with the important person. I hate that shit. It's like I'm supposed to be all perky and be like, "Hi, I'm so-and-so, I'm in charge of this department, and here's what I'm doing today, *giggles.*" Please. What I'd really love to to is walk up to them and tell them how fucked up our store is, but I'm sure that's not permissible. I have never been one to kiss someone's ass, I'm who I am, I do what I do and if ya don't like it, that's just too bad. I tell ya, gotta love these corporations!
