Yes, the streets of our fair city is alive with the sound of music. This phenomena occurs in slow moving or stopped traffic. The quiet you experience is shortly outlived by a loud, deep bass sound eminating from the car next you. Heaven help you if you happen to have the windows rolled down; the sound of the rap base can easily destroy your eardrums, vibrate your entire car and cause you internal organs to shift in discomfort. Normally I can ignore it. Not that day.

That day was a few days ago sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. Next to me was a guy entombed in his souped up rice rocket, proceeded to senerade me with some gangsta rap. (Note to men: this is generally not a wise music selection when attempting to woo a female).

I looked over at him and he smiled back at me, checking me out and increasing the thumptitude in his overpriced stereo system. Looking back at him, my expression was to convey "what are you kidding me?"

After that I tried to pull away from him, ignoring his audio advances. He kept pulling up beside me, wanting me to roll down my window and declare he was the man of my dreams. Him and his big ass stereo. Yeah, buddy, hold your breathe, I will get back to you. There were few options available at the time:

1. Evade him as quickly as possible.

2. Hope a police officer drives by and gives him a ticket. (Just in case you don't know-audio/music that eminates 50 feet or more from your vehicle is subject to a ticket. A misdeamnor ticket. One of my friends used to play his music so the people in the next city could hear him. I warned him and sure enough, a week later he got a ticket) OK, sorry didn't mean to digress.

3. Pull out my HK 45 and take out his tires, so I can drive away. I could also hold the gun towards the driver in a Pacino manner to convey "Meet my little friend".

4. Pump up your stereo so loud that it drowns out his noise. Not likely to be sucessful, but may be worth a try. Maybe Barry Manilow? Opera? Any other suggestions for annoying music selection?
